Lou-Ann

This piece was commissioned by a lovely person to represent her battle with breast cancer, and in remembrance of her mother who loved yellow roses. Making pieces like this that are designed to be special and bring joy in dark times is a special kind of joy for me.

This piece is intended to be hung outside, so it required quite a lot of research and engineering to withstand the elements!

Lou Ann 18’ x 18”, and entirely handmade out of solid white oak – including the frame –painted using UV resistant, custom-made, exterior-grade tinted varnish, mounted on an aluminum panel with exterior construction adhesive, and finished with danish oil and marine-grade spar-urethane sealant.
